The freedom story from Frank Adamo from New York, USA
Courtesy Notice, Foreclosure Flyer, Public/Law Notice
I sent the courtesy notice to a couple of collection agency’s that i was making $800
a month payments to i haven’t herd a word from them yet, its been 3 months. the
thing is my wife was on one of the credit cards that we were paying but i forgot to
put her name on the courtesy notice.she was served a notice to appear for some
“action”. Anyway they are getting a courtesy notice which should stop them in there
tracks. keep you posted
to let other people know that these are legitimate documents that were provided by
oppt/ in change for there use. i sent all notices registered mail.
all is contracts,
I’m not sure if there is any significance to the whole “Registered” vs. “Certified” mail thing…
But, interestingly… if nothing else, when I went to the local post office a couple days ago to “Register Mail” my first CN, finding the last little “Registered mail receipt” form, in their multiple racks loaded with plenty of every other form, and take it to the BEing at the counter, whose first question was “Why do you want to send that Registered?” I say, “personal reasons.”
He asks if I know the differences between “Registered” and “Certified” services, and I ask him to please tell me. He proceeds to give me his version and REALLY seems to BE pushing me to send my letter “Certified”, saying: “that is really the way you want to send it”.
I say, “it does seem odd that (the way he described the difference in services) ‘Registered’ is SO much more expensive than ‘Certified’, when you appear to BE receiving so much less with the ‘Registered Mail’ service. No, I will take Registered Mail service please.”
After returning home every more curious, I check the USPS website for the listed differences. One thing I did not know, they say that, “Certified Mail” travels with the common postage mail and “Registered Mail” does not. Something that the postal worker did not mention.
Another interesting point was that I, for the most part, have been living without money for the past few years and did not realize how expensive “Registered Mail” is. (I was SOOO excited to BE DOing my first CN!!) Well, there was not enough funds in the account with which I paid for the postage and fee (I did not realize that fact until after I got home from the post office), yet the transaction went through successfully anyway! <3
